'Twas the MONTH After Christmas

Twas the month after Christmas and all through the house... nothing would fit me, not even a blouse!

The cookies I'd nibbled, the eggnog I did taste. Noting all those Holiday gourmet parties have gone to my waist!

When I got on the scales there arose such a number. I mounted the Tread Mill to walk, not quite a trot, but more like a lumber.

I remember the marvelous meals I'd prepared, the gravies and sauces and beef nicely rare'd, the wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese. And never once said, "No thank you, please."

So--away with the last of the sour cream dip. Get rid of the fruitcake, every cracker and chip. Every last bit of food that I like must be banished. Until all those extra pounds I've put on have vanished.

I won't have a cookie--not even a lick. I'll just be a-chewing on a low-cal, long, celery stick.

I won't have any hot biscuits, corn bread, or pie. I'll just snack on veggies and quietly cry.

I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore. But isn't that what January is for?

Unable to celebrate, rumble or riot. Just wishing you a Happy New Year and y 'all a good diet!

Our quilting New Year begins next Tuesday, February 2, 2016! Hope to see all of you, after our L~O~N~G, winter hiatus!
