Quilting May 31

Dear Son's Chapel Volunteers,

A real "Doublemint gum day... double the pleasure... double the fun..." - @ 82 degrees, and again escaping the wrath of forecasted rain/storms but with 90% humidity, PLUS this being the 5th Tuesday of uninterrupted quilting, for 18 volunteers. Thanks to extra helpers, B "Swiffer"-ing the floors and C for taking down the quilt sign.

SHOW and TELL: D knitted another beautiful, cable stitch, hooded, baby blue cardigan! N has sewn/quilted another quilt! She called it her "Hippie Quilt",with very colorful, pieced, printed Batik. What a beautiful selection of vibrant colors, especially the purple backing.

QUILTING NEWS: S M. embroidered a "3 Little Pigs" big center. Two quilts were turned (the last side); 1 quilt was sandwiched; 1 quilt top was sewn, a dog center; 2 quilts were bound; and 10 quilts laundered. Two quilts were sold: "Lady Bug" and "ABC's". T brought on or "has the moves" with firemen fabric; but the quandary of HOW to combine firemen/baseball, the professions of the expectant parents into ONE quilt design? Suggestions? NO, she doesn't want it to be two-sided (or two-faced)!?!?!?

It's "Summertime... and the livin' is easy...", "School's Out for the Summer", with Memorial Day as the "official" start and the OLD tradition of wearing white, while "June Is Bustin' Out All Over..." for fun, vacations, traveling and weddings, "as the month of June was named after Juno, the Roman goddess of marriage".
