Dear Son's Chapel Volunteers,
MY! MY! Today surely epitomized The Mother Goose's Nursery Rhyme, "North wind doth blow... (but NOT) and we shall have snow...", with the 40 mph gusting winds, for luckily, instead it was sunny and 70 degrees for 18 quilters/ stitchers. C baked a delicious, home-made, Irish Easter cake to share for lunch.
A proudly brought the completed, lovely, white and pastels, "postage-stamp" quilt, with 8,100 squares, and very unique design, made by her grandmother, and quilted by her and S! The 1" squares are beautifully and meticulously quilted! Wish S could have heard all the comments of praise and admiration. N brought in another vintage quilt, with the seams of every square having different embroidery stitches. Regretfully, she doesn't know the history or source of this quilt.
QUILTING NEWS: YEA! LOTS of good news today: 2 quilts are completed and out of the frame, with one already ordered and 4 quilts were sold (printed animal panel, bugs/jar, Sunbonnet Sue and Dapper Dan)!!!! Two replacement quilts were put in the frame; 2 more quilts were sandwiched; and 1 quilt top sewn - animal squares with gingham frames. Embroiderers B and N both finished colorful, "Ring of Animals" centers.
As we celebrate the beauty of springtime and joyous Easter season, may we appreciate, believe, grow and rejoice in Jesus' resurrection, and pray for continued blessings of family, friends, health, happiness and peace!
