March 3rd

Dear Son's Chapel Volunteers,

"March Came in Like a Lion", but regretfully was also preceded by TWO cancelled February quilting Tuesdays, due to wintery, snowy weather! Thus today, determined and energetic "I'll Be BACK" (just like Arnold Schwarzenegger) in FULL FORCE were 21 voluneers. Thanks to DJ and S for shoveling and salting our Chapel sidewalk. You were ALL brave souls today to traverse for your commitment as Son's Chapel VOUNTEERS! Thank you ALL!

Thanks also to E, N, S for their extra effort and HELP! E printed a whole batch of YELLOW quilt record, index cards for 2015, making it easy to identify the year by COLOR! N completed a blue "sleepy bear" center, her first ever attempt of embroidering; so she's "mastered" another skill and did really nice stitching work. And S sandwiched and got a quilt in the frame; her extra help was most appreciated! A had photos of her (and S's) progress, quilting her grandmother's "postage-stamp" quilt! YES, its progressing, almost ready for the first turn. SIX quilt tops were sewn over these two past "snow-weeks". Hoping that S will approve of the NEW, boy quilts, about which she was so adamant!

QUILT REPORT: Although there was NO business meeting this month, would like to report our quilt progress. There are 5 quilts in frames, in progress. N and E have volunteered to take quilts home to quilt. Four quilts were sold in Dec./Jan. and one quilt in Feb., for an income of $334. After discussing a quilt raffle for the May 30th Anniv/Open House, the consensus is that there is NOT adequate time for advertising, ticket sales and quilting.

Hope we can "weather" tomorrow's forecasted winter storm... stay warm. Remember to set your clocks ahead this weekend, and think S~P~R~I~N~G...
