Dear Son's Chapel Volunteers,
Well we did indeed "Spring Ahead" with the time change... but we weren't exactly acting like "spring-chickens", starting with awakening that hour earlier to a rather dark and dismal, wet and overcast day. Nevertheless, 18 tried and true volunteers trekked to the Chapel for quilting.
J finished embroidering a yellow/blue sleepy bear center. Three more quilt tops were sewn this week. S is busy working on the 2015 Chapel directory. For "show and tell": B found two panels of printed doll clothes, titled - "DAY WEAR Clothing for 11-12" Dolls" in her mother's sewing machine drawer. We were all commenting about the clothing styles and trying to determine the era? G brought a vinyl square they've selected for their kitchen flooring; it has small square accents resembling quilting-style pattern insets! Think the quilting designs influenced her decision? S sewed a very colorful quilt and machine quilted it, with very unique squares (well not quite squares, with diagonal cuts and smaller center "squares"!!!). So glad N was pleased with the fabric and design of her embroidered, blue, sleepy bear quilt top.
An Irish Blessing for Saint Patrick's Day - March 17th:
May love and laughter light your days and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons bring the best to you and yours.
See you the 17th and the "wearing of the green"... Erin Go Bragh!
