Dear Son's Chapel Volunteers
After the torrential downpour all day Monday, and the weathermen's forecast of a rainy Tuesday, thankfully "Mother Nature" blessed us with a lovely, warm, spring day for 20 quilters/embroiderers. Quilting was followed with an enjoyable, delicious lunch, hosted by M, at their lovely home on Beaver Lake, with such a picturesque setting and beautiful motif, giving us the grand-tour and ALL her beautiful boutique of quilts! We are in awe of ALL M's talents! Her table favors were panda bear, owl and monkey bobble heads, and confetti filled Easter eggs. Thank you M!
The transportation quilt sold today, with the quilting finished by S. One quilt top was sewn this week, and the five quilts finished last week are bound/completed, laundered and ready to sell. Thanks to S, our new, *yellow, 2015 Chapel Directory was distributed today. If you weren't present, you may pick up your directory later. The *yellow cover coordinates with our yellow quilt cards for 2015. G has found the Mason jar/logo we'd been searching for; you'll have to ask her about her laborious work to find this buried treasure! Thanks T for the great idea of taking the breast cancer quilts to "Newcomers"; it was a great opportunity for free advertising, even though none were sold.
"Show and Tell": Some quilters did attend the Quilt Show last weekend; if you missed it, A has photos to share for creative ideas. DJ brought in a framed, "black-work", a counted cross-stitch butterfly, she'd done in the 70's. What tiny, single thread stitches and great, very detailed and precise work! N had 2 beautiful, knitted scarfs; the one for over the shoulders with sleeves is right in style.
Don't forget tomorrow, April 15th is TAX DAY! UGH! Like an "acronym", The IRS, spells theirs.
